Sunshine Coast Council is investigating Light Rail
On 24 August 2011 council resolved to deliver a light rail service to the Sunshine Coast and to establish a Sunshine Coast Light Rail Taskforce. The Taskforce is to include representation from the business and the community.
The Taskforce will collaborate with community and business sectors and will facilitate the business case for light rail on the Sunshine Coast.

University Hospital will Boost Sunshine Coast.
The new tertiary Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) and will open with 450 beds in 2016 and expand to a 738 bed facility by 2021.
The $ 2.03 billion Sunshine Coast University Hospital will be the focus of the new Kawana health precinct that will transform the health industry on the coast and create thousands of local jobs.
The 20 hectare site on the corner of Lake Kawana Boulevard and Kawana Way will become a busy precinct with the Sunshine Coast University Hospital at its centre. Read more
